Overview, Phuket Lifestyle of Thailand

So, Phuket is a tropical paradise located about 890km southwest of Bangkok. It’s the biggest island in Thailand, about the same size as Singapore, and it’s surrounded by a bunch of smaller islands. There’s a bridge at the top of the island that connects it to the mainland. The island has some hills, with the tallest one being about 529m high.

There’s still a lot of jungle on those hills, and on the lower parts of the island you can find rice paddies, rubber trees, pineapples, and coconut trees. There’s also a wildlife sanctuary on the island that protects the rainforest. The west coast of the island has the most beautiful beaches, and the east coast has more rocky beaches. The island is also close to some amazing islands in Phang Nga Bay, like Phi Phi and Similan. It is a few reasons of why Phuket is the crown jewel of Thailand.

Laid-back Lifestyle in Phuket

If you’re considering a trip to Phuket, you should know that it has a laid-back vibe or a more energetic, party atmosphere, depending on what you’re into. For example, you can spend a relaxing day swimming and eating at a quiet beach like Naithon, or you can join the crowds and hit up the bars and clubs in the lively Patong area. And with Phuket’s international airport, you can easily catch a flight to lots of other places without having to go through Bangkok first.

Lots of expats are attracted to Phuket because of the comfortable, easygoing lifestyle. There are tons of restaurants that serve a variety of Western and Asian food, and Phuket is especially known for its delicious and cheap seafood. You can find pretty much anything you need here – imported goods, great shopping, amazing golf courses, and opportunities for sailing. And if you need medical care, there are top-notch facilities available at a much lower cost than you’d find back home.

Phuket life is relaxing

For longer visits, Phuket draws retirees, families, and professionals in the workforce. Approximately 115,000 foreigners make up the island’s permanent population, according to sources, which is little over 500,000. Due to the low cost of living, wonderful weather, and outstanding infrastructure, including Phuket International Airport with direct flights to every region of Thailand and many other countries, living abroad is simple.

Naturally, where a person lives depends on their personal needs. Some foreign nationals choose to settle near well-known tourist destinations along the western coast, including as Patong, Karon, Kata, Kamala, and Surin. Others go for areas that are further away from the crowded tourist areas.

In particular, the Russian, German, and French like the laid-back ambience of the restaurants, bars, and beaches in Rawai, which is also conveniently located near the airport and the Central Festival retail district.
